Teaching Philosophy & Impact

Teaching is more than delivering content—it’s about sparking curiosity, building confidence, and creating a space where every voice matters. As an educator in communication and media, I am committed to cultivating classrooms that are inclusive, adaptive, and intellectually stimulating. Whether guiding a student through their first public speech or mentoring them in design thinking, my goal is to help learners unlock their potential and see the real-world impact of communication skills.

| Courses Taught

At the University of Southern Mississippi, I’ve taught a diverse slate of undergraduate courses in both Communication Studies and Media Production:

  • CMS 320 Professional Communication
  • CMS 330 Small Group Communication (course developer)
  • CMS 111 Public Speaking (multiple sections, both in-person and online)
  • MEA 250 Intro to Design (course developer)
  • MEA 101 Audio Essentials
  • MEA 102 Video Essentials
  • MEA 103 Design Essentials

| Courses Developed

I independently designed CMS 330: Small Group Communication and MEA 250: Intro to Design—crafting syllabi, setting learning outcomes, curating materials, and integrating innovative technologies to enhance student learning. These courses emphasized practical applications, critical analysis, and collaborative problem-solving.
